The Langdale Valley
The Langdale Valley is the quintessential Lakeland location and Chapel Stile offers an ideal base from which to explore. With beautiful hamlets such as Elterwater, Little Langdale and Chapel Stile all to explore and breathtaking views around every corner the Langdale Valley is unique.
If you want big imposing summits to conquer there is no shortage to be found at the head of the Valley, all with names that conjure up the spirit of Wainwright and the Lake District. The Langdale Pikes, Pavey Ark, Crinkle Crags and Bowfell are all close by. For those who prefer a more relaxing ramble rather than serious mountains the Valley will not disappoint as it boasts a wealth of lower level routes where you will find unmatched panoramas to charm you at every turn.
If Mountain Biking is your thing then the area offers a huge range of interconnected bridleways to explore and if this isn’t enough only a short drive away (or if you are really energetic a 10km ride) is Grizedale Forest with its network of bridleways, forest roads and, the “piece de resistance”, the infamous North Face Trail.
Whatever you are seeking in the Lake District the Langdale Valley will not disappoint.
